Remember this unfortunate photo?
It spread like wildfire, helped on its way by the photographer who “got lucky” with the shadow.
Today, at the CyberTech conference in Tel Aviv, Björn Stritzel, a journalist for Germany’s BILD Politik, took a similar photo, except this time the victim was Binyamin Netanyahu and the moustache was created by the microphone at the podium.
But then something unheard of happened. Once Björn realized the “Hitler moustache” effect, he deleted the photo, despite the obvious marketability of such a photo.
When I reached out to Björn to ask why he deleted it, he told me he didn’t “want this kind of stuff to be used by nefarious people.”
Mind blown. A foreign journalist with journalistic ethics and integrity covering Israel.
Shortly afterwards, Björn posted the below photo, which makes Bibi look like he has a weird goatee.
