Israel is known for sending medical professionals and other experts to countries in need. What I didn’t know is we even arrange for those from other countries to come help.
Last week, the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the Israeli Embassy in Canberra and the Australasian Jewish Medical Federation arranged for a team of three Australian ENT (ear-nose-throat) specialists and a nurse to provide free health screenings and surgeries for dozens of children in Fiji. We also arranged for an exhibition in Fiji on Israeli technology.
This did not go unnoticed, with two of those involved invited to discuss these initiatives on Fijian TV breakfast show Breakfast at Fiji One.
Warning: this interview is so friendly and nice, you will be surprised, given what we are used to seeing when Israel is concerned.

And what about those shirts?!
Update: Israel and Fiji recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in various sectors including agriculture, water, food security and sustainability.
