WATCH: Binyamin Netanyahu Handles ‘Hostile’ Andrew Marr Interview Like a Boss

I am not sure if it just me, but BBC television presenter Andrew Marr comes across as both goofy and smug. And he would not be out of place in a James Bond film as Q, showing Bond the latest gadgets.

Be that as it may, he recently had Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on to discuss the Middle East conflict. He tried to play “bad cop” – much like Tim Sebastian used to do on HARDTalk, and still does on DW’s Conflict Zone.

Bibi always give a good account of himself but I’d venture to say this was one of his most masterful performances.

  1. I don’t think Marr was being hostile – but just being “BBC / Guardianista” par for the course – i.e. brainwashed, blinkered and intransigent. The natural antipathy and ignorance towards Jews and Israel, and his apparent naivety as to the true facts within the Middle east shone through. Bibi handled him with ease.

  2. (Bibi) “No I don’t want a one state solution, I’ll be clear about that… and I’m unabashed about saying that!” He also thinks the PLO terror organization is better the Hamas terror organization which is simply more honest in their desire to destroy Israel. Perhaps that’s because lairs tend to believe lairs. Bibi has not problem creating a terror state and giving about the temple mount, Hebron, Shchem etc… Enough said!

  3. Did anyone expect anything else from ‘neutral’ journalist Andrew Marr? Of course not.

Before he came on the show Netanyahu already knew what questions would be posed to him……for they are always the same.

Netanyahu therefore eats soft eggs like Mr. Marr every morning for breakfast.

  4. I feel that the one point Netanyahu could have made is that now having removed the fate of having an ISIS Caliphate there is a big risk of having an Iranian Caliphate.
The Iranians being a bit more subtle than ISIS has not used that term so far, but their long term strategy is to control the Middle East and subsequently threaten Europe before going on for bigger things.
As it is with their base in Eritrea they can cut off access to the Red Sea and threaten commerce.
What will that ‘Nation of Shopkeepers’ do then?
