I have known for a while that US singer-songwriter Pink was Jewish, by virtue of having a Jewish mother, but I just assumed this was not something to which she really paid much attention.
Until now. In an episode of Reese Witherspoon’s new unscripted series Shine On With Reese, Pink speaks about life on the road with her two children.
“[Daughter Willow] was like, ‘Wait. So my mom’s Jewish. … Well, then I’m Jewish.’ Yeah. ‘Well, then this could have been us. And at (then) 6, it’s just like … to watch those wheels turn.”
And apparently this is not the first time Pink has identified as a Jewish woman.

“It’s incredible to watch neo-nazis march in 2017, while I, a Jewish woman, headline a show in Berlin where these tunnels were built by him, built curvy so he couldn’t be shot in the back.”
This might seem trivial to some, but being Jewish has never been popular. This is not someone virtue signaling or saying what people want to hear. Clearly Pink does identify as a Jew, and has passed this on to her children.
Unlike those Code Pinkers, who are Jew-in-name-only.
