On Twitter, I have lambasted the Israeli English-language and Jewish media outlets for their reporting of Simon O’Broin’s airline shenanigans. While the Israeli English-language and Jewish outlets (think Times of Israel, Jerusalem Post and Algemeiner for example) have been quick to point out her BDS ways (although not that quick – they all came out with their reports a day after I blogged about it), none of them have mentioned her antisemitism. And I remain entirely unconvinced by the excuse proffered by a number of their reporters as to why this may be the case; they claimed they needed to take time to verify. To this I say 1. her antisemitism was there on her Facebook page for all to see, which is how I was able to blog what I did, and 2. none of them have reported it even until now.
(At this point, I would like to acknowledge that writer/researcher and occasional Israellycool contributor David Collier also point out her antisemitism here).
And there’s another important detail not being reported, which I also missed in my original blog post: O’Broin assaulted one of the flight attendants so badly that the assault actually left bruises.
It was widely reported that O’Broin was arrested when she landed at Heathrow Airport, on suspicion of racially aggravated public order, common assault, and drunk and disorderly, but was subsequently released under investigation. This photo indicates the seriousness of the assault.
Here’s hoping she faces charges and – assuming she really is a lawyer – disbarred for her disgusting actions on the flight.
