It is no secret that Rep. Ilhan Omar, recently appointed to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is an Israel hater. She would just like us all to believe she is not a Jew hater.
I am finding that even harder to believe, given her most recent despicable comments, which show a double standard towards the world’s only Jewish state.
So Omar is aggravated that Israel has Judaism as its official religion. Yet not a word about the other 42 countries with state religions: 27 with Islam, 13 with Christianity, and 2 with Buddhism. Or the Palestinian Basic Law, which declares Islam as the official religion of “Palestine.”
She is also lying. Of course Israel recognizes other religions. Israel’s Nation State law does not infringe on the individual rights of any Israeli citizen, including Muslims; heck, we even have Sharia courts!
Comparing us to Iran was also a low, disingenuous blow. Iran is criticized for it material support of world terrorism, stated objective to wipe another country off the map, as well as human rights abuses; the torture, rape, and killing of political prisoners, and the beatings and killings of dissidents and other civilians.
In essence, Omar is singling out the world’s only Jewish state for special treatment, and believes we should not exist. That sounds a hell of a lot like Jew hatred to me.
