Yesterday, I posted how Rep. Rashida Tlaib was following an antisemitic Instagram page, at least until this fact was exposed by journalist Ashley Rae Goldenberg. Tlaib’s response to the post and ensuing uproar was to quietly unfollow the account, without bothering to respond to Ashley’s request for comment. And I have confirmed with Ashley this is still the case.
Now it has been brought to my attention that Tlaib has added a disclaimer to that Instagram account.
This reinforces the view that Tlaib is cocky enough to believe this does not warrant a proper response, including a condemnation of the person behind the account and an apology. She truly believes this will all blow over soon, and as I mentioned in my previous post, given what we have seen with regard to Rep. Ilhan Omar, she could just be right.
