Israeli police officers have surprised 16-year-old Arab cancer patient Juli, collecting him in a police patrol car from his home in Nazareth and driving him to the traditional Christmas parade in the city.
For the past 8 years, Juli – who has had to be in isolation and experience Christmas only from the TV and phone screen – has dreamed of getting well and attending ceremonies with the other children and joining the scout group attending the Christmas parade. Not an easy thing, given he is attached to medical equipment even when he is not in isolation.
After Juli’s story came to the attention of the Nazareth station policemen, they decided to fulfill his dream of attending the holiday parade; they arrived at his home in Nazareth, picked him up with his medical equipment, and drove him to the parade center, where he joined his friends at the Christmas parade. The police stayed to assist him in everything.
At the end of the procession, police officers returned a happy Juli to his home.
I am not crying, you are crying.
