This next video is actually not hot off the press at all – it is, in fact, from September last year. But it just came to my attention and is really good (and with almost a million views, it seems many others agree with me!)
Created by a travel vlogger called Cal McKinley who has close to 100,000 subscribers, I’d almost make this required viewing for those traveling to Israel for the first time.
I should point out that he gets number 7 wrong in the sense that there is no siren on Yom Ha’atzmaut; in addition to Yom Hazikaron, we have a siren on Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day).
But I loved what he said about the Yom Hazikaron siren: “It’s for them to commemorate the people that made it possible for us to be there today.”
