Turkey’s TRT World Finds Vile Use For Holocaust Survivor Who Moved to Israel

Turkish state-owned news channel TRT World has decided not to consider a Jew who survived Auschwitz and then moved to Israel as a Zionist interloper (as Israel haters usually do), but rather a useful tool.

It starts with the immortal lines

The first day I met him, he asked me

‘Why do you look at me this way when they say: Hey, you Arab man?

I told him ironically that we were told that you Arabs have tails and all Arabs are like Hitler.

It doesn’t get any better from there.

Note how in her world, the Jews are the racists who were taught all Arabs are bad, while all the Arabs she has met are great and totally not racist against Jews. I have never heard about Jews being taught things like Arabs having tails. You’d think that if this was ever a thing, a Google search would reveal it. Alas, nothing. Yet it is no secret just how much incitement against Jews there has been in the Arabs community, especially among those who identify as palestinians. MEMRI and PMW have plenty of examples. In fact, the ex mayor of Umm al-Fahm – where she lives – is Sheikh Raed Salah, who has been arrested numerous times and he has spent many years in Israeli prisons for inciting to violence and supporting terrorism. Here are some examples of what he has said about us.

Salah has on several occasions been accused of anti-Semitism. His detractors claimed that he referenced the blood libel antisemitic canard during a sermon in 2007, a claim he denied. In 2011, Salah published an article in Sawt al-Haq w’al-Huriyya in which he rhetorically asked “Were 4,000 Jewish clerks absent by chance, or was there another reason?” alluding to the conspiracy theory that the Israeli secret service Mossad was behind the September 11 attacks and had warned Jews not to turn up to work on the day of the attack.

Of course, the antipathy in Umm al-Fahm towards Jews is all Netanyahu’s fault according to the elderly lady, and not this kind of antisemitic incitement.

Speaking of antisemitism, she also claims that if the state of Israel did not apply double standards to Arabs and Jews, “there won’t be antisemitism.” Arabs never hated Jews except for right now, she says with a straight face, before proceeding to engage in some antisemitism of her own, comparing Israelis to the Nazis, with Netanyahu being Hitler. This after she complained she was taught Arabs are like Hitler; I guess Hitler comparisons are ok in some situations, but not in others.

I assume TRT World decided to depict the Jewish teacher who taught these things as having a yarmulke (even though most Israelis were and are secular) because they are reacting to Israel’s “alleged double standards to Arabs and Jews.”

Of course, despite her (and TRT World’s) best efforts, some truth cannot be hidden. When she speaks of meeting Arabs in Tel Aviv – thus showing the absurdity of claims of ethnic cleansing – it’s as if millions of anti-Israel voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
