Antisemite Roger Waters recently accepted an ‘International Solidarity With Palestine’ Award, in an online ceremony sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
That’s right, “human rights activist” Waters has no problem accepting an award from those unrepentant about the Armenian genocide.
The best part, though, is just how hilariously bad it goes. The disheveled-looking Waters – who clearly did not dress for the occasion – cannot hear anything and gestures to indicate this, but the gesture looks more like he is calling the presenter crazy. After Waters apparently regains sound (I am assuming he had his computer volume on low or mute), the host asks him to respond, to which he says “that was all very, very moving” – despite clearly having not heard a darn word.
He ends his speech with a plea to Turkish dictator Erdogan to pardon a woman who was jailed for singing in Kurdish, which I am sure embarrassed the hosts. But the sycophantic way in which he addresses Erdogan shows just how morally vapid he is.
I had to also laugh at his recollection of his mother’s advice to find out all the facts. He clearly did not listen to her!
