A user on Reddit writes about his father, a palestinian Arab, who believes the Six Day War never happened – because how could tiny Israel defeat all the Arab armies.
Ok so first about my dad… Palestinian, born in a town close to Ramallah in 1948. Immigrated to America in 1978.
My dad claims there was never an actual war. He said it was all an act, that there’s no way a tiny nation like Israel could defeat Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon at the same time. He said he remembers seeing the Jordanian military just leaving his town for no reason, without any battles or gunfire from anyone. My dad believes that the Syrian president at the time, Hafez al-Assad was paid by Israel to give up the Golan Heights, and that King Hussein was paid to give up the West Bank.
Of course my dad has absolutely zero evidence to back this up 😂 I asked my dad why has no one ever said this before, and he said any Arab will tell you this. Please forgive my dad, he’s 73 years old LOL
So is there anyone here that was around the war and actually witnessed the battles of this war?
No word on whether his father believes the same about the Israeli War of Independence, where we were also heavily outnumbered yet handed their arses back to them on a platter. Or the Yom Kippur War which we had no business surviving.
Also Hafez al-Assad was not the Syrian President at the time, but details.
I have to hand it to the Reddit user though. He at least seems to be well grounded.
