Reuters has a video on Ahmed Abbas, the youngest tailor in Gaza.

The kid seems talented – I’d rather see his creations on Gaza store mannequins than these:
What struck me about this video is how Israel is not blamed at all for the fact Ahmed is working as a tailor. In fact, it is presented as a positive thing – a kid doing something he loves.
Although it sounds a bit like slave labor. I would love to know what “errands” it is his father is doing, while his son actually works and presumably provides for the family.
I also fear for young Ahmed as he grows older. Will Hamas look kindly on a young man having women coming to his workshop (and will these women still “feel” comfortable around him).
And, perhaps more critically, how will they treat him if he realizes his dream of becoming a fashion designer?
