Osama Bin Laden’s Son Apologizes For Father’s Actions, Plans to Visit Israel

This seems like an appropriate thing to post right before Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year and beginning of a period of intense repentance.

Osama Bin Laden‘s son has told an Israeli newspaper that he is planning on visiting Israel, as he apologized for his late father’s actions and revealed more about his upbringing.

Speaking to Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth, Omar, the youngest of Bin Laden’s sons, said he was expected to take over from his father as head of Al-Qaeda but rejected.

“My father hated his enemies more than he loved his sons. I felt stupid for the life that I wasted, and I knew that I was leaving, and leaving very soon,” he told the daily, adding he and his brothers were told they should become “martyrs”.

He spoke of “shame and horror” he felt towards his father for the crimes he committed, saying he was forced to come to terms with who his father really was.

He’s even invoking Golda Meir!

And this story gets even worse for the haters:

My wife’s mother’s family are Jews and originally from Israel. I would be happy to visit Israel one day. Zaina (his wife) received an offer in the near future to give lectures at Israeli universities on peace. I know it is a beautiful country and many people want peace with the Palestinians. I know since 1948 “Palestinians live alongside the Jewish people. We believe that the world should live together, and that neighbors of every religion can live side by side in peace.”

Which means Osama bin Laden could have Jewish grandchildren (who can make aliya to Israel if they so choose).

It must be very difficult for the haters to now boycott the son of one of their heroes.
