The Guardian have an interesting AP photo feature, which surprisingly shows a side of Gaza the mainstream media usually don’t touch.
Juxtaposing photos from Gaza beach and Tel Aviv beach, the feature seems to be trying to show that we are not that different after all. What it also succeeds in showing is just how Gaza is not the open-air prison and “concentration camp” that so many haters claim.
Despite my pleasant surprise over this feature in the Guardian of all places, I do have one quibble. There are a number of photos juxtaposing Gazan women in modest garb vs tattooed Israeli women:


You could just as easily find those modestly-dressed Muslim women at Tel Aviv beach. As for Gaza beach, you won’t find one Jewish person.
This is a huge difference between both places, one the pictorial ignores.
