Content Creator Adnan Barq: Living the Good Life in Israel While Spreading Hate and Lies

In yesterday’s post about the anti-Israel propaganda “own goal”, the palestinian Arab showing the content creator around the Old City of Jerusalem is one Adnan Barq, himself a content creator with a relatively large following.

One to which he shows his support for terrorism:

mocks the idea of Israelis living under threat of rocket fire:

(note how is also under threat when his Gaza heroes decide to fire rockets at Jerusalem)

and generally acts nastily:

(this video went viral at the time)

sometimes even going in to fully-blown antisemitism:

Yet if you look at his photos and videos, you will see he is enjoying the freedoms of living in Israel, something that is confirmed by an interview he once did with Teen Vogue.

When Adnan Barq picked up my Zoom call this summer, he was apologetic. He was walking through West Jerusalem and had lost track of time. “I rarely come here, but I needed to find a job,” Barq said. The 21-year old graduated this summer with his bachelors’ degree from Bethlehem University. “I was in a hotel asking if they need someone for reception. The receptionist was like, ‘You studied English literature and journalism and want to work as a receptionist?’” he said.

As we spoke, he weaved through an open-air mall. He passed a patio of diners enjoying the sunshine, a carousel of colorful horse figurines, and ducked through a crowded market under a tent.

And remember in the “own goal” video how he mocked the need for Jewish houses to have security while boasting how the palestinian Arab houses even have open doors? He paints a different picture in the same interview:

After our call, he’ll head back to East Jerusalem, to the Old City, to home. It feels like a military zone, he tells me, filled with surveillance.

Adnan is less Barq and more biting the hand that feeds you.
