Former Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr recently linked to this vile SMH op-ed by Jewish antisemite Antony Loewenstein, adding that “of course Israel practises apartheid,” while referring to the “lobby.”

“The lobby” sounds alarmingly like a reference to a supposed all-powerful Jewish lobby, a favorite of the Jew-haters of the world.
A look at Carr’s other tweets, and he is for the most part careful to refer to it as the “Israel” lobby – as if that somehow takes it out of the realm of antisemitic trope:

He has also, in the past, tried to distinguish between “Israel” lobby and “Jewish” lobby:
Alas, the pretense has proven too hard to keep up for poor Bob, and he stumbled and used the “J” word instead to describe the lobby earlier this year:

Not that Carr’s antisemitism should have been in any doubt. He once accused us of “Judaising” Jerusalem (!), and defended vile antisemite Mahathir “Mahitler” Mohamad.
It is for this reason I prefer to refer to Carr as a firetruck. Because it is a word that starts with “f” and ends in “uck.”
