Mark Ruffalo Goes (Almost) Full Mel Gibson

Last week, actor Mark Ruffalo tweeted the following:

It is as if he was bottling up all of this rage against us, and let it all out. Reminds me of something.

Leaving aside the fact this renowned expert on everything (/sarcasm) cannot even spell our country’s name, Ruffalo links to a Guardian “expose” naming a team of Israeli contractors who claim to have manipulated more than 30 elections around the world using hacking, sabotage and automated disinformation on social media.

Even if what they reported is true, to use that in order to demonize the entire Jewish state is nothing short of antisemitism. His tacking on our “state-sanctioned” killing of journalists and “apartheid” – neither of which actually exist – and speaking of “power centers in Isreal” (sic), just reaffirm his bigotry against the Jewish people.

It is no different than Mel Gibson’s infamous rant saying “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.” Ruffalo just doesn’t mention the Jews’; rather Israel, the Jewish state. And there is no mention of “sugar tits.”

I would argue what Ruffalo has done here is worse than Mel Gibson’s transgression. Gibson said what he did to an individual, and he did so while under the influence of alcohol. While not excusing Gibson, what Ruffalo has done is worse. He soberly tweeted this out to his 8+ million followers (a number that equates to half the number of Jews in the entire world) at a time of rampant antisemitism around the world. He is using his soap box to increase Jew hatred.

Ruffalo is truly a bad actor.
