Following initial reports of a strike on Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City, Israeli “influencer” Hananya Naftali tweeted the following:
He did this as a private individual tweeting and who, in this particular instance, exercised poor judgement, given we did not know the facts when he tweeted this.
For instance, this is what I tweeted at the time:
I am not going to comment on the Gaza hospital strike until we know more information. Too much speculation going on, and too many rushing to state certain things as fact at a time things are still unclear.

As Israel investigated and evidence mounted that it had been an Islamic Jihad misfired rocket, Naftali deleted the tweet and posted this clarification:
Earlier today I shared a report that was published on @reuters about the bombing at the hospital in Gaza which falsely stated Israel struck the hospital. I mistakenly shared this information in a since deleted post in which I referenced Hamas’ routine use of hospitals to store…

In other words, he based his tweet on a Reuters report and assumed it was true. Knowing the IAF would not target a hospital, he assumed there must have been a terror base inside.
You know what they say – if you assume, you make an ass out of you and me.
Be that as it may, the damage was done. The other side, with absolutely no evidence on their side that the IAF struck the hospital and all the evidence pointing towards a palestinian rocket, had only one main argument.
Hananya Naftali’s tweet!
You cannot make this up.
The argument – if I can call it that – is based on the fact Naftali used to work for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and has now been called back to be part of his task force to help fight for Israel in the media:
It seems all the haters latched on to his tweet in desperation; haters like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar:
and also now the palestinian Arabs themselves:
It really is almost comical.
Here we have this one guy, tweeting like the rest of us, making an error in judgment and posting some fake news. But because his “day job” is with the Prime Minister of Israel, his tweet is being used as admission from Israel that we did it.
Reminds me of the old ‘Brian told me’ promos back in Australia in the early 90s:
They truly believe that the Prime Minister of Israel would – before any IDF investigation – decide to fess up to bombing a hospital deliberately and release this news through his digital media dude?
The palestinian Arabs and their allies have already shown how they will shamelessly lie in order to turn public opinion against Israel. And the lies don’t get much more shameless than this one.
