Grinspoon are an Australian rock band who have achieved some success, selling over half a million records over almost thirty years.
Yeah, not quite Bon Jovi, but that’s half a million records more than most of us.
And why am I even mentioning them? Reader Jethro went to their concert on 4th of October at Queens Beach Hotel, Bowen and was shocked by what he saw: lead singer Phil Jamieson coming on stage wearing a shirt containing the slogan “Free Palestine” and the inverted red triangle symbol, used by Hamas as an arrow to indicate Israeli military targets. Jethro took the following photos:

And it is not the first time Jamieson has worn the shirt publicly; he seems to be really fond of it.
Jamieson is a former crystal meth (“ice”) addict who stoke from his bandmates to fuel his drug use. He may have overcome that dark chapter of his life, but he is clearly still a terrible human being.
Meanwhile, Jethro wrote to the promoters requesting a refund:
I would like to request a refund for the Grinspoon concert held on 4th of October at Queens Beach Hotel, Bowen.
I did not pay good money to be offended by terrorist symbols worn by the lead singer.
Lead singer Phil Jamieson came on stage wearing a shirt containing the slogan “free palestine” and the Hamas symbol, an inverted red triangle .
Phil repeatedly opened his jacket and emphasised the offensive and radical terror symbol in front of the crowd. This was disgusting and unnecessary political messaging, and the deliberate use of a symbol calculated to intimidate and offend Jews like me. Should I have to pay good money to be offended in this way??
I walked out halfway through their first song.
The red triangle has been popularised by pro-Hamas propagandists since their October 7th massacre of Jews. As you may know, Hamas filmed their massacre. They then used the inverted red triangle symbol in their snuff-films to indicate which Jews are about to be hit by gunfire or RPGs. The symbol has since been adopted by anti-Israel activists and used as a coded threat against Jews and Israelis.
This is completely unacceptable.
I paid $79 for my ticket, plus $120 for accommodation, plus $100 for 2 tour t-shirts, plus drove over 200km from Mackay to see a band I’ve been a fan of for over 20 years. Please consider the shock I was forced to endure when confronted with an overt pro-terrorist symbol proudly displayed by the lead singer.
I will require a full refund for the ticket and t-shirts. I contacted Oz Tix and they said I would need to take my claim up directly with the event promoter. I look forward to a response at your earliest convenience.
If you would like to also voice your disgust, here are the promoters’ emails:

And if you happen to have been a fan of Grinspoon and Jamieson, perhaps now is the time to boycott their music.
