Meet Rolf Voulon:
An avid micro/small cap investor based in Perth, Western Australia, Rolf invests through various entities, including Perpetual Capital Investments and 818 Trust.
I assume the “818” in his trust’s name is meant to represent “abundance, empowerment, and positivity,” but I’d suggest a better number for him would be “88”, and “Adolf” would suit him better than “Rolf.”
Since Rolf got clued in to the fact that his genocidal, antisemitic comments might come back to bite him, he removed his main LinkedIn profile and locked his Facebook profile.
The bad news for Rolf is, the Internet doesn’t forget, and I don’t hold back.
A Google search of his name reveals quite the checkered history.
In 2003, the Equal Opportunity Tribunal of WA found Voulon guilty of sexually harassing a former female employee and ordered him to pay damages to her.
In 20210, Voulon submitted an application to the Town of Vincent for a retroactive planning approval change for a property of his he had converted to a therapeutic massage parlor. In the application, he emphasized the massages offered were strictly “non-sexual” in nature, and apologized for failing to adhere to the correct procedure when he changed the use of the building without asking for approval (it seems Massage Mojo has since closed).
In 2022, Voulon – who describes himself in web ads as ”Perth’s best landlord helps unemployed with homes” – was sued by the Commissioner for Consumer Protection over one-sided terms and conditions in one of his company’s short-term rental accommodation contracts. Prior to a final hearing, Starland admitted the allegations made by the Commissioner and agreed final orders, subject to the Court’s approval.
In other words, it seems that Voulon’s antisemitism is a feature, not a bug. He seems to be a dodgy individual, which is something I think the investing community in Perth should know about.
2/1/24 8:00: Voulon reportedly sent the messages to the outgoing Jewish CEO of an AI digital company of which he is the largest shareholder. And he denies antisemitism.
My post on HotCopper regarding Idan’s involvement in military operations during his time with the Israeli Air Force and as CEO of UNITH raised questions about the ethical implications of his military service, particularly his potential involvement in operations in Gaza that have been criticised for causing civilian casualties,” he said.
“At no point was this a personal attack or an anti-Semitic comment, and it was certainly not a generalised criticism of the Jewish community,” he told the paper.
“My questions were focused solely on his role in the military and the discrepancy in his public statements about his military titles. I also raised the point that he was recalled to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) while serving as the CEO of UNITH, which in my opinion, raised concerns about how such dual responsibility could impact his leadership in a public company.”
“My intent was purely to seek transparency,” he said.
“My comments reflect my personal opinion regarding role in these military operations.”
If it wasn’t “generalised criticism of the Jewish community” as he claims, why did he mention “you Jews”?
