Yesterday was Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day), marking the city’s reunification in wake of Israel’s victory in the Six Day War (an event even many palestinian Arabs were pleased about).
And as has happened in the past, some marchers chanted anti-Arab refrains like “death to Arabs.”
I want to make it abundantly clear that I condemn such chants. They are not representative of the vast majority of Israelis, who also condemn them. I think it is important to do so.
But I think it is also important to point out the absolutely hypocrisy of the haters.
Naturally, they have latched on to the chants, in an attempt to paint all Zionists as genocidal, which fits exactly in to their narrative that Israel is commiting a genocide in Gaza, a clear lie.
Take for example performance pubic poodle Guy Christensen, himself someone who clearly doesn’t mind a good murder:

All “Zios” and Israelis are monsters because of some chanting these vile things – even though the perpetrators are a tiny minority and roundly condemned by all and sundry. Meanwhile, he and other haters complain that Israel is collectively punishing all Gazans. And they never call Hamas (the governing body of Gaza) monsters, despite the atrocities they actually perpetrated (along with some civilians, mind you), and have made clear they would repeat if given the chance.
It is funny how the haters readily excuse (and even applaud) the atrocities of October 7 as the result of “occupation”, but not some kids chanting vile things as the result of their brethren being butchered, kidnapped, and raped.
I believe in fairness and consistency. And when people one-sidedly bash Israel for things some Israelis do, but the palestinian Arabs themselves do en masse (and then some), it reeks of antisemitism.
Meanwhile, the same haters (along with many others, including Israel-supporters) see MK Ben Gvir as the devil incarnate (and in the case of the haters, use him as a representative of all “Zionists.” And yes, he doesn’t always help matters with some of his statements (to put it mildly). But in fairness, this happened at the march:
As revelers began to chant “Death to Arabs,” Ben Gvir shifted course, chanting instead, “Death to terrorists,” with the crowd following his lead.
Ben Gvir told the celebrants: “Guys, I want to say something — I don’t hate Arabs, but I hate terrorists, and I want a death penalty for terrorists, and God willing, we must win.”
