Lebanese-Australian journalists and Israel-haters Antoinette Lattouf (who infamously questioned whether “Gas the Jews” was ever chanted at the Sydney protest following October 7) and Jan Fran recently joined forces to form Ette Media. Its tag line?

Jan Fran recently shared to her Instagram stories a post from Sydney artist Scottie Marsh, in which he shared a Daily Mail article about how he deceived a Zionist group. The deception? Commissioning a $20,000 mural to celebrate Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu – only to receive a mural of him in a Hitler pose:

Except the real deception was the article itself – and media literacy and critique expert Jan Fran – in her rush to mock the Australian Jewish community – fell for it.
So you can imagine our surprise on Monday to see Fran duped by an obviously fabricated news story purporting to be from none other than the Daily Mail.
The ABC presenter reposted a screenshot of a fake article about how a Jewish group from Bondi was tricked into getting a Nazi-inspired mural painted in their suburb after commissioning graffiti artist Scottie Marsh to do a tribute to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
A very satisfying little yarn for the ‘Zionism is fascism’ crowd, for sure. Except it never happened and DM published nothing of the sort. The article was a Photoshop job.
There were a few clues something was amiss. The first was the byline: Moss Adman.
So much for Question Everything, Jan…

But for someone who claims to have a keen eye for bias and fabrications – and posts smug videos mocking news headlines – it was quite the clanger.
Following the above Daily Mail repudiation of the fake news, Marsh admitted to it but claimed the intention was not to deceive but to beat the censors “and it worked!”:
Well done Scottie! All you managed to do is expose your fellow Israel-hater Jan Fran as Jan Fraud and to further reaffirm how your cause is rife with deception, hostility towards the Jewish community, and all round sh*tty behavior.
And that is worth more than $20,000. It’s priceless.
