Old and busted: Save Ferris
New hotness: Save hummus.
Anti-Israel propaganda is fast becoming more ridiculous by the day, and this next video almost takes the pita cake:
Where do I even start with this?
Perhaps by pointing out that hummus is not “palestinian.” Palestinian Arabs themselves culturally appropriated it; the basic ingredients of hummus were all staples of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East for thousands of years, well before the holy land was renamed “Palestine.” And the earliest known written recipes for a dish resembling hummus bi tahina are recorded in cookbooks written in Cairo in the 13th century.
Which is fine. Every culture takes things from others and infuses their own “spin” on it. It just isn’t ok when Jews do it, apparently.
In fairness to Hummus Guy, I also find chocolate hummus to be an abomination. But that’s a topic for another post.
And how about him stating he is Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian, and palestinian? A bit of an own goal, since it hints as to how there never used to be a distinct palestinian Arab identity.
Speaking of cultural appropriation, as an Aussie, I object to how he co-opted the koala for his ridiculous propaganda.

And “palestinian love” isn’t an ingredient – it’s a health hazard.
And the idea that palestinian Arabs are “full of love”? He might think he “decolonized hummus” (whatever that means), but he has clearly not de-colon-ized himself, because he’s full of sh*t.
Oh, and in case you believe he is pretty harmless and goofy, he is rather nasty and should perhaps be renamed “Hamas guy.”
