Earlier this week, the World Socialist Web Site published a piece lamenting Australia healthcare workers being falsely accused of antisemitism as part of a “Zionist witch-hunt” to “silence people who speak out against violence or criticise Israel” since October 2023.”
Rank-and-file doctors in Australia have stepped up their calls for medical colleges and indemnity insurance providers to defend local colleagues targeted by Zionist elements determined to silence all opposition to Israel’s imperialist-backed mass murder of Palestinians in Gaza.
Beginning in late 2023, Australian medical practitioners protesting Israel’s war crimes have been subjected to a barrage of online harassment, doxxing and threats. The Albanese Labor government and its state counterparts, who have unwaveringly backed Israel, have aided and abetted these attacks.

Some of the health workers targeted include Dr Miranda Robinson, a Melbourne obstetrician, and Dr Jennifer Martinez, a highly experienced GP and forensic medical examiner who previously worked for Headspace, the national mental health organisation.
Early this year, Sky News published bogus allegations made by a pro-Zionist health worker against Robinson, impacting her mental health, income and career. The harassment against the obstetrician was so serious that she initiated legal action against her complainant.
Last month, Sky News targeted Martinez, who became head of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s sexual assault service in Sydney in February this year. The article cited an anonymous letter to the New South Wales health minister, claiming Martinez was “antisemitic” and guilty of “bullying behaviour.”
The letter and article urged the health minister to investigate and “reconsider” Martinez’s appointment, claiming that her conduct posed “significant moral and legal risks to survivor safety.” It was a clear attempt to destroy Martinez’s career.
Let’s look at the two doctors mentioned as having been unfairly targeted: Dr Jennifer Martinez and Dr Miranda Robinson.
Martinez is the head doctor for the sexual assault service (!) at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, as well as a GP for national mental health charity Headspace (!). On social media, she has used repeated social media references to other doctors, including Jewish doctors, as “Zio doc flops”, “Zimbos”, “butthurt Zio doctors”, “Zionist extremists”, “demons”, and “gronks.”
And even if one wants to invoke the “anti-Zionist-not-antisemite” defense, she appeared to back the doxxing of 600 Jewish creatives:
Remember also, the World Socialist Website is complaining that Dr Martinez is a victim of online harassment and doxxing. And here she is harassing others and supporting doxxing of Jewish people.
The second doctor here, Melbourne obstetrician Dr Miranda Robinson, is mentioned as being the subject of “bogus allegations made by a pro-Zionist health worker.”
In February, The Australian revealed Miranda Robinson was reported to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency by midwife Sharon Stoliar after the obstetrician accused Ms Stoliar and her Jewish husband of having “dirty dirty money”.
Dr Robinson on social media accused Ms Stoliar of “almost certainly” being behind an anonymous Instagram account posting about anti-Semitism in healthcare and the conflict in the Middle East because she was a “POC” (person of colour) and married to a Jewish man.
The Medical Board of Australia has now stepped in and imposed conditions on her registration, including that she be “mentored by an approved mentor addressing appropriate social media use and impact for the profession” to help her maintain “cultural safety for all communities”, according to the AHPRA registry.
Correspondence obtained by The Australian between AHPRA and Ms Stoliar on September 3 revealed the Medical Board had “concerns about Dr Miranda Robinson’s conduct in relation to culturally unsafe shared posts and comments on social media”.
The letter acknowledge Dr Robinson had “proactively approached a practitioner regarding mentoring”.
“On consideration of the information available, we reasonably believe that Dr Robinson’s professional conduct is or may be unsatisfactory,” an AHPRA opera-tions manager wrote.
“The conditions requiring Dr Robinson to attend for mentoring in relation to appropriate social media use and impact for the profession and maintaining cultural safety for all communities will ensure her conduct is at the standard expected.”
Dr Robinson had requested the “board defer a decision until January 2026”, but in response the operations manager wrote the request would “not be appropriate in circumstances where a risk to the public has been identified” and that the proposed time for the deferral was “unreasonable”.
In other words, the allegations were found to be with merit and involve blatant antisemitism.
So according to the World Socialist Web Site, Martinez calling Jewish doctors “demons” and Robinson ranting about the “Jewish mafia” is just brave truth-telling. Right. And I suppose Hamas are really just misunderstood social workers with rockets.
This isn’t a “Zionist witch-hunt.” It’s what happens when antisemites in lab coats finally get called out. If Martinez and Robinson are the best poster-children the socialists can find, then maybe the real diagnosis here is terminal hypocrisy.
