The following video was taken at the University of Sydney where Jewish students and academics were taking part in a Sukkot celebration run by the Australasian Union of Jewish Students. By all accounts, there were no political symbols like Israeli flags or even hostage ribbons.
This appalling video shows a Jewish academic and Jewish students at the University of Sydney being harassed by someone apparently of palestinian Arab extraction. The students were celebrating a Sukkot event organized by @AUJS, and there were no Israeli flags nor even hostage… pic.twitter.com/u7LJ2OxUCZ

The antisemitism is clear, with the woman targeting the group solely because they were Jewish, using Nazi-esque dehumanizing language, invoking the medieval blood libel of the Jew as “baby killer,” and casting doubt on the Jews’ semitic origins.
But it gets even worse. You see, the perpetrator is reportedly a University of Sydney staff member. She has been suspended pending further investigation.
Mind you, it is not like this is the first time a University of Sydney staff member has exhibited unhinged behavior. Last month, academic Fahad Ali tweeted he wanted Zionists “executed like we executed Nazis.” And academics Professor John Keane and Dr Nick Riemer have been accused of breaching section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.
So once again, the rot within academia is showing – not as a fringe outburst, but as a symptom of a much deeper sickness.
When hatred of Jews becomes so normalized that staff at one of Australia’s top universities feel emboldened to spew medieval blood libels at students celebrating a Jewish festival, it’s no longer just a “disciplinary matter.” It’s a moral failure of the institution itself.
Until universities start treating antisemitism with the same zero-tolerance they claim to show for every other form of hate, they’ll keep producing more “educators” who think bigotry is scholarship and harassment is activism.
