Professor Peter Macdonald, a leading Australian cardiologist and transplant researcher, is quite the distinguished individual. Cardiologist & Senior Staff Specialist in the Cardiopulmonary Transplant Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney; Conjoint Professor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales; and Co-head of the Transplantation Research Laboratory at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. In 2014, Professor Macdonald led a successful heart transplant from a donor heart that had ceased beating for 20 minutes – an advance with significant implications for donor organ management.
What a great guy!
Except he’s not.

These comments were made during a panel event featuring a bunch of Australian Israel-haters.
Here’s the kicker: cardiology is one of the areas where Israeli innovations have had huge impact worldwide. From the stents and transcatheter valves keeping arteries open, to AI-driven imaging, heart-failure implants, and remote monitoring devices, Israeli technology has become standard of care worldwide. Israeli cardiologists were among the first to perform live human angioplasties and TAVI procedures in collaboration with global teams; and research institutions like the Technion and Sheba Medical Center continuously develop new surgical methods, imaging techniques, and materials for cardiology.
I highly doubt that Professor Macdonald is ready to bin the very tools that make his life-saving work possible, despite the “Zionist” infiltration of his field.
So let’s be clear: the very field that made Professor Peter Macdonald’s name is one Israel has revolutionized. Without Israeli breakthroughs in stents, valves, imaging, implants, and surgical methods, his career would likely not look nearly as impressive.
Yet when faced with antisemitism and terror, his response is to side with the mob. That doesn’t just make him a hypocrite – it makes you wonder if he is the one who truly needs a heart transplant.
