Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame – who FAFO’d her foundation out of existence after leading chants of “globalise the intifada” at a protest just over a month after the Bondi massacre – is finally apologizing.
Not for leading those vile chants of violence that endanger Jews around the world. She is apologizing regarding other comments she made, suggesting that the idea Hamas murdered and raped Israeli women on October 7 was “debunked propaganda.”
After losing speaking gigs over her "Globalize the Intifada" chants, you might have thought former Australian of the Year Grace Tame might be in damage control mode.

“I’m not going to sink to the level of entertaining any kind of propaganda… those things have been debunked.
Look, violence is, let’s be real, violence is happening on both sides. But this is not a fair fight. We’re not talking about two equal cohorts, even marginally.
That’s a tactic of the bad faith actors is to try to trip people up, to get them to condemn this and condemn that.”
Well it’s only taken her almost 6 months, but Grace Tame has now apologized for those comments.
Or, more specifically, for any harm the mischaracterisation of her comments has caused:
I am not buying what she is selling.
For a start, if you listen to her comments, they were rather clear. This wasn’t a mischaracterization, it was a character reveal. The fact Grace Tame cannot acknowledge she misspoke is a sign that the “apology” is not genuine.
Do you know what was mischaracterized? Human Rights Watch’s findings – by Grace Tame in this “apology.” Saying they could not find evidence to support the claim that Israeli women were raped en masse on October 7 is highly misleading, and implies HRW believes no such evidence exists. What they actually did say is how “factors that may affect the willingness and ability of survivors and witnesses to come forward”, as well as “important gaps in the collection of forensic evidence” means they will “likely never know the full picture.” That is a very different thing.
As is the time it took for Tame to make this “apology”. Almost 6 months. If she was sincerely remorseful, she would have apologized almost immediately.
What’s more, the idea she does not hate Israelis or Jews does not jive with her chants to “globalize the Intifada” – something for which she has never apologized. Nor does her invoking of the antisemitic trope of a “shadowy cohort,” as she did in the same radio interview that got her into (more) trouble.
So no, Grace. We heard you perfectly well the first time.
