Flotillard Paul Larudee seems to be invoking his inner Obi Wan Ben Kenobi.
“We believe that the movement will grow stronger each time we are thwarted”
“If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine”
Thanks to Carl for the photo and quote from Larudee.
His nazi sister was fired by DePaul University at the same time that Nazi Norman Finkelstein was fired by them, and for the same reason
Why does she have an Arab first name Merhrene
Life is pretty much a metaphor for "Star Wars" for you isn't it, Dave? I shouldn't complain, though. I see parallels between real-life events and anything done by Mel Brooks, but particularly "Blazing Saddles." "Authentic frontier gibberish, indeed!
Myself, I’m a Back To The Future guy. History is a series of rhymes—repetitions of events with small variations.
Azriel Carlebach, the founder and editor of the Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv, wrote in his 1955 editorial titled “You Can’t Negotiate With Allah,” that his days’ news was the news of a few decades ago just with different names. Reading that stunning, non-PC article, the truth of this is inescapable.
(As far as I know the article isn’t online. I read it on a microfilm archive in one of Israel’s universities a while back. To summarize, the main thesis of the article is that Islam is the problem with the Middle East and nothing else, and that it’s a problem because it ingrains a fascistic way of thinking in its adherents. Amazing, no?)
Hmmm, I just noticed. “…in his 1955 editorial…” 1955? That was the year I went back… that… was the year of the famous Hill Valley lightning storm.
I remember seeing the "Back To The Future" town square set on the Universal Studios tour some years ago. I believe the studio set was destroyed by fire a little while back. Not sure what the status is today. Probably no plans to make any more sequels by Universal anyway.
“I believe the studio set was destroyed by fire a little while back.”
Twice, according to the BTTF Wiki, and is now being rebuilt.
There was also another studio set built in California for the Western scenes of episode III. It was destroyed after being struck by lightning. Zemeckis says, perhaps only half in jest, that he saw that as a sign from God that the series was to be closed.
“Probably no plans to make any more sequels by Universal anyway.”
What with today’s usually lame remakes of everything (don’t get me started on Transformers), that’s a wise decision and I hope it never gets reversed. The plot’s already quite convoluted with the existing three episodes anyway.
They will revive ANYTHING.
Actually, isn't that basically Neitzche? That which does not kill me makes me stronger?
Although, in the case of OB1, it's more like "that which DOES kill me makes me stronger".
Blow it out your ass, Howard (line from "Blazing Saddles" in reply to one of the town leaders quoting Nietzsche in a kind of a pompous sort of way). You see, I really can't help myself.
You got the wrong side of The Force – he looks a lot more like the Evil Emperor
