Pallywood Picture Perfect: The Case Of The “Quran Snatchers”

The following photo has been spread on social media, by the usual scum and villainy, to vilify Jews and Israelis.

(Notice the #JSIL hashtag, to compare Jews to ISIS, started by the detestable Max Blumenthal).

Again, it is a lie.

A reverse image search easily brought me to this series of photos – including the above – which show the men in question with Rabbi Menachem Froman, the late Rabbi who was known for his peacemaking and good relations with palestinians.

This then led me (ironically) to a 2009 post on this very blog, which has one of the photos from the series, and explains clearly the context.

An Israeli Orthodox Jewish man kisses a copy of the Quran, after Jewish settlers vandalized the local mosque on Friday, as he and others stand at a roadblock outside the West Bank village of Yasuf, near Nablus, Sunday, Dec.13, 2009. Assailants vandalized a mosque in Yasuf early Friday, burning prayer carpets, holy books and leaving behind a graffiti message in Hebrew indicating the rampage was the work of settlers angry over Israel’s plans to curb settlement building. Israeli rabbis visited a Palestinian village in the West Bank on Sunday, bringing copies of the Quran, days after Jewish extremists are believed to have vandalised a mosque in the area. The delegation rabbis came to a junction in the West Bank and met with Palestinians. The head of the delegation, Rabbi Menachem Froman, condemned the attack on the mosque. (AP Photo/Nasser Ishtayeh)

So not only is this not a photo of Jews “ransacking a mosque and stealing copies of the Quran”, it is in fact a photo of Jews doing the very opposite – bringing palestinians copies of the Quran.

And note the reverence the Jews are showing for the Muslim holy book – as evidenced by the above photo – which clearly surpasses the ‘reverence’ shown by the Muslin lady for a Jewish holy book the other day.

Yet another example of the desperate lies of the Israel-and-Jew-haters. Because without lies, they have nothing.

Update: Interestingly enough, the original tweeter referred to my post as proof the photo showed what he claimed.

Clearly in his rush to demonize Israel, he did not read the caption correctly and used a pro-Israel blog as his source.
