It started when Oren Kessler, Deputy Director of Research and Research Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, took Clancy to task for claiming the cartoons never mocked Mohammad.
Then this happened.
The cartoons NEVER mocked the Prophet. They mocked how the COWARDS tried to distort his word. Pay attention.
— Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 7, 2015
@clancycnn Absolutely untrue. The magazine was targeted in the past over an issue in which Muhammad was listed as guest editor. — Oren Kessler (@OrenKessler) January 7, 2015
@OrenKessler Hasbara?
— Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 7, 2015
@clancycnn Huh? What on Earth are you talking about? — Oren Kessler (@OrenKessler) January 7, 2015
.@clancycnn I call you out on your total unfamiliarity with the facts, and that’s your response? Extraordinary.
— Oren Kessler (@OrenKessler) January 7, 2015
Then after blogger Elder of Ziyon took Clancy to task and was called a “ZioNazi” by an antisemitic Clancy fan, the “journalist” did not castigate the antisemite for it, or otherwise distance himself from the comments. No, quite the opposite. He actually groups the antisemite and Elder together, and claims the former is trying to do PR for Israel. Note the reason I am using screenshots is he has deleted the tweets. Covering his tracks, much?
Here’s the rub: @JewsMakingNews @elderofziyon are accounts with about 50 followers…who are also part of a PR campaign that is anti-Muslim
— Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 8, 2015
(As an aside, Elder of Ziyon has 12.7K Twitter followers, so this journalist has a problem with simple facts. Looking forward to his upcoming reports on Gazan casualty statistics)
These accounts are part of a campaign to do PR for #Israel @JewsMakingNews @elderofziyon Nothing illegal – but PR not HR : Human Rights — Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 8, 2015
And there’s more:
@HumanRights2K Thanks for the glimpse into your dreams. Everyone who stands for Human Rights is anti-Semitic. Great moniker, that. — Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 8, 2015
@codemonkey1972 MY numbers are plunging? You have 103 Hasbara followers. I figure there are thousands! Why do they HATE you? Lame?
— Jim Clancy (@clancycnn) January 8, 2015
Remember, this is a journalist for CNN. It is no wonder their anti-Israel bias is so obvious.
Update: Per Elder, there’s more to this epic meltdown!
In the meantime, Clancy blocked me, despite me presenting only facts. Here’s my message to him:
And still on the topic of Nicholson movies, Clancy should watch out. If he continues with this meltdown..
Update: This doesn’t surprise.
So bold when handling Israel, so timid when handling Islam. I wonder… could there be a lesson here? Nah, no way there could, ’cause that falls under the “we’re better than them” clause of suicidal humanistic sentimentalism.
Clancy’s responses were nothing to do with fear. If he was simply fearful he’d have been quavering and peppering his comments with “but” and “we have to understand”, etc. Here was an outright antisemitic rant. Aussie Dave nailed it.
I’ve got to admit that I’m shocked, despite being a cynic, despite my years of media watching and blogging, and knowing full well what CNN are like. To be so overt about your antisemitism – and there was nothing about Israel in those rants – is pretty unusual amongst MSM media. At least in the public eye.
Has anyone made an official complaint to CNN? Maybe we should threaten to burn their offices down…
Not enough to threaten. The mainstream French Monhammedan community showed that if you want the media to be on your side you need to threaten + occasionally shoot up a newsroom.
That was my point, Anne. If the Jews and their state struck the fear Muslims do in those cowardly moralistic preacher-journalists, media bias against Israel both subtle and overt would vanish in a blink of the eye. It’s the same reason there are no “humanitarian” flotillas to North Korea or Syria, only to Israel: the Jews are too humanistic for their own good.
I’d rather survive by waging barbaric warfare than have my mercy and magnanimity inscribed on my epitaph. The world is a jungle, and the thin veneer of civilization is nothing but an easily peeled off mask.
I hate agreeing with you, but at this point one must.
Another exponent of post-modern suicidal mediocracy. He should get the Russell Brand Prize for Outstanding Moronism & Dhimmitude.
The Enlightenment is dead in France.
Produce satirical cartoons there at your own risk.
Clancy has nothing to fear from Islam. As Jizya paying Dhimmi he has a protected status.
CNN pay theire Jizya by apologizing for/ignoring Islamic terror against Jews
CNN duz it agin. Ignorance always outs in the end.
“Ignorance?” i’m shaking my head no every time i read that Jew haters are ignorant,
I always noticed that Clancy was anti Israel you notice that alot on CNN International not so much on CNN U.S.CNN has so many advertisements from Qatar it must pay alot of CNN’s bills.Clancy has the face of a guy you would like to spend a minute alone with in a secluded area and then watch him shake. Clancy the clown is as poor as reporting the facts as hating Jews.I notice you have 12.7thousand followers. While the muslim JMK has 60
As far as Hasbara that’s grass roots people explaining Israel’s side, not CNN,BBC and all the others who receive money from from muslim advertisements as well as help from some oil companies. The philistines just hires the biggest P.R. Company in the world http://observer.COM/2014/11/the-palestinian-authority-taps-top-lobbying-firm-patton-boggs/
Clancy is a typical journalist — a narcissistic moron.
I say this as a journalist. I’ve known quite a few.
Clancy is a Jew hating psychopath. But to his credit, that’s a job requirement at CNN unless you’re a dumb girl who’s job it is is to cover stories on puppies and veterans returning home.
I met Clancy about 25 years ago when he was still new with cnn. I met him around the Lions’ Gate in Jerusalem where he was filming. I told him that I thought he was making a mistake about something having to do with Israel which I now cannot remember. He was polite at the time and wanted to hear my side. He gave me cnn’s address in Jerusalem and I wrote him there and in fact I got back an answer from him. In those days he might not have felt as secure in his job as he now does. But of course he never changed what I complained about. He is as bad or worse today as he was back in the 1980s.
Fortunately, another cable news network has entered the American scene, the One America News Network. Based out of San Diego, it just started up last year and so far, it has been doing things right by me. Most of the time, it broadcasts straight news, but its prime time commentator, Graham Ledger, is unabashedly pro-Israel and even said that Netanyahu’s statement on the persecution of Christians in the Middle East has earned him the designation of leader of the free world. OANN has a website and Facebook page for your perusal. I hope it rises as CNN falls.
My friend gets it on another cable group.Time Warner doesn’t carry it.
sweet mother of venus….had Jim Clancy lost his mind!? I have always thought he was a decent person, as in how he appear on CNN that is…..
Hey, I’m in even better company than I thought – he blocked me too…
he blocked everyone who took umbrage at his comments
pals with ali abunimah
why am i not surprised
It seems that he’s using the “Silverstein method” with Oren Kessler.
That is: Someone disagrees with him, the person is a “hasbarah-ist” and nothing more needs to be said.
It is truly bizarre though that he made the comment regarding an issue that had nothing to do with Israel, even indirectly.
Does Richard Silverstein use the alias ‘Robert Munro’ ? Anyone know?
http://inthesetimes.com/working/entry/17491/university_of_california_israel_bds#comment-1768661967
Some troll named Robert Munro tried using the Silverstein method on a comment I made and he even posted links to Haaretz (my auto spell changed Haaretz to “Hazards”) and Dickie Silverstein.
Israel shouldn’t allow him to report from anywhere in the State. Last Summer duirng the gaza war another CNN reporter Diana Magnay called the people in Sderot scum. She got sent to Russia for ther trouble. Why these people makes fools of themselves on Twitter is behyond me.
