Don’t let anti-Israel DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein’s buffoonish appearance and whining about online harassment to the NY Times fool you – he’s one of the biggest bullies towards pro-Israel people you will come across. His weapon? Lies, damn lies and being sadistic.
Case in point: Silverstein decided to target Israel advocate Hen Mazzig, who was recently in the news after BDS-holes used violence and intimidation to try silence him at University College London. Except Silverstein outright lied and attributed the violence to pro-Israel people (despite the video evidence) and blamed this on Hen.
Silverstein also claimed Hen had just left Seattle.
Also not true – he has been back in Israel since mid 2014. You’d think Silverstein – who prides himself on being in the know on everything – would have known Hen had no longer been living in the same city as him for years already!
Silverstein followed this up with another bold-faced lie: that Hen had been sacked by StandWithUs.
Anyone in the know is aware that Hen decided to leave StandWithUs, preferring to operate as an independent. In fact, StandWithUs wanted Hen to stay. So where did Silverstein get his information that Hen was fired?
Nowhere. In fact in a subsequent tweet, he admits he does not know what happened!
Silverstein clearly seems to have a bee (or perhaps Beau) in his bonnet when it comes to Hen. You may recall he tried intimidating Hen in person years ago. Yeah, good luck with that.
If all that lying was not enough, Silverstein continued with these tweets:
Neither Hen or StandWithUs have ever defended the murder of anyone. One can assume Silverstein sees the liquidation of actual terrorists trying to murder Israelis as constituting murder.
Nor is Hen’s mission to demonize palestinians. His IDF service was with Cogat, whose mission includes facilitating humanitarian issues and economic and infrastructure projects. In the IDF, Hen actually helped make life easier for palestinians.
Silverstein is constantly complaining he gets no respect, with the media refusing to cite his “scoops.” Besides most of these “scoops” being false, he has no credibility with any serious media outlets due to his reputation for lying, bullying and racism.
It truly sucks to be him.
