Contradictions in Palestinian Accounts of Death of Razan Najjar

I have already mentioned the death of palestinian volunteer paramedic Razan Najjar, who the palestinians are claiming was shot by an Israeli sniper during Friday’s “March of Return” riots.

While the IDF is investigating how she died, I have a number of questions based on what the palestinians are disseminating.

Note I do not claim to know how she died, only that their version of events is not consistent and raises serious doubts as to the veracity of their claims.

In which part of the body was she shot?

The Electronic Intifada reports she was shot in the back:

She was about 100 meters away from the boundary fence with Israel at the moment she was shot and was wearing clothing clearly identifying her as a medic, the human rights group Al Mezan stated, citing eyewitnesses and its investigations. Al Mezan stated that al-Najjar was shot in the back.

Latuff goes with that too

Yet others claim she was shot in the chest.

Also see this video, which makes the same claim.

Meanwhile, M’aan reports she was shot in the stomach, while this report says it was the neck!

Why the contradictions?

What was she wearing at time she was shot?

The same Electronic Intifada report mentions she was wearing clothing clearly identifying her as a medic:

She was about 100 meters away from the boundary fence with Israel at the moment she was shot and was wearing clothing clearly identifying her as a medic, the human rights group Al Mezan stated, citing eyewitnesses and its investigations. Al Mezan stated that al-Najjar was shot in the back.

Likewise, the Palestinian Information Center:

And Quds News Network:

And here:

Yet this video purports to show her wearing a blue Press(!) jacket:

Likewise here she seems to be wearing blue (even underneath the vest):

And if she was wearing that Press vest – which looks bulletproof – how did a bullet penetrate it?

If you claim this is not her, why are they posting it was?

But there’s more. Red headscarf?

Or blue?

Or black?

Where’s the blood?

I don’t see any.

Why the different “vests”?

There are photos of different vests purporting to be hers going around.

For instance, the one I posted above:

Notice, no bullet hole. Then there’s this one with a bullet hole!

Update: This video of the man above holding the vest does show a bullet hole. So this was a matter of the camera angle.

This does not make medical sense

This video seems to suggest this was her in the ambulance.

She has an endotracheal tube with Ambu bag.

If this video is later at a hospital, how come the endotracheal tube with Ambu bag was removed?

(These medical questions were verified as legitimate by a friend of mine who is an ER doctor)
