Israel Under Fire: Monday August 22nd 2011

REUTERS/Yannis Behrakis

Despite Hamas declaring a ceasefire, palestinian terrorists continued to fire rockets and mortar shells  at Israel Sunday evening and early today, including Qassams fired at Ashkelon and Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, and mortar shells at Eshkol Regional Council.

On our side, the IAF reportedly hit a terrorist cell, wounding several people.

Updates (Israel time; latest at top)

8:44PM: “So, how’s that ceasire going?”

“Oh, not so well.”

1:45PM: Turkey’s Hurriyet paper has reported that Israel’s refusal to issue an apology for the flotilla events “will lead to further deterioration in the relations between the countries.”

12:35PM: Reuters reports that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire.

Starting from now…

Kind of reminds me of this.

One official who was involved in mediating talks between Israel and Palestinian factions in Gaza said the groups had “reached an understanding on a truce and that the truce has started.”

12:20PM: Those brave Hamasholes have reportedly soiled their pants and gone underground. Here’s hoping they end up marinating the soil.

11:36AM: The IDF Spokesperson has tweeted that 16 rockets were fired into Israel overnight from Gaza.

8:38AM: Yesterday, I posted how Hollywood actor Jon Voight visited rocket attack victims at Be’er Sheva’s Soroka Medical Center.

Today I have the video (courtesy of Ynet).
