Hamas Think Their Islamic University’s Da Bomb

A few weeks ago, UNESCO inaugurated a Chair in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Sciences at the Islamic University of Gaza. This move, of course, did not go down well with Israel, considering the university role as a political hub for Hamas support. Not to mention  a training ground for Hamas engineers to manufacture explosive charges and rockets.

Thanks to new Israellycool contributor Gaia who forwarded me the story, I see Hamas has denied accusations that the university is anything more than a great place to learn, and has accused Israel of wanting to impede palestinian progress.

Defended the Islamic University in Gaza, its right to get a seat at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO”, stressing that the occupation does not want progress and development of any Palestinian institution, emphasizing its determination to continue its march towards excellence, progress and prosperity.

The diplomatic sources said the “Israeli they will provide a letter of protest to the Office of Director of UNESCO attached information and describes the wide range” link of the Islamic University in Gaza, Hamas, especially its support for the military arm.

The occupation was accused of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Islamic University graduation of many of the engineers who put themselves in the service of the military wing of Hamas and helped in the production of missiles and bombs.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Islamic University of Al Jamal shoot – in a special permit for “Palestine Now” story on Thursday morning 12/07/2012 AD – that the Islamic University is the University of all Palestinians, but nothing to do with education and benefit of the Palestinian people, stressing that the university is recognized for their in turn, academic and educational excellence.

He accused the vegetation occupying Zionist hostility to the success and progress and development and practice of terrorism against the Palestinian people and its institutions, actors, and said: “The occupation does not leave any Palestinian institution successful and distinguished only Anatha terrorism,” explaining that the University has extensive relations with Arab and international universities and European.

And around the Old University on charges of occupation vegetative stressed that the reaction will be to complete the march of science, said: “We do not care about the lies of the occupation and will continue to work to serve our people and our students.”

While I think we can all agree Hamas is lying out of it’s Hamashole, I do admit the Islamic University of Gaza looks like a great place to learn.
