Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, starts tonight.

It is about introspection, repentance and striving to be a better person.

Unlike the secular New Years Eve, it is not about drinking copious amounts of alcohol and partying. It is also not about blogging, so you won’t see me or any of the Israellycool gang around these parts until at least Saturday night Israel time.

In the meantime…

Here is Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sending his Rosh Hashanah greetings in front of his impressive Jewish book collection.

Here is President Shimon Peres who uses some groovy special effects for his.

US President Barack Obama has not yet released his customary Rosh Hashanah greeting; rumor has it he is waiting for Congress to approve the video.

Meanwhile, I’ll leave the final word to the IDF.

Wishing you all a year of health, happiness and spiritual growth.
