Reader Post: Anti-Zionist Sharks?

Last week US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Israel to press us into making yet more unwise concessions to the Palestinians in exchange for precisely nothing. He even went as far as to excoriate Israel for “stealing land” and practically condoned a third intifada if Israel does not cooperate in its own surrender.

a very frustrated Kerry basically blamed the Israeli government for stealing the Palestinians’ land and the Israeli public for living in bubble that prevents them from caring much about it. If that wasn’t enough, he railed against the untenability of the Israel Defense Forces staying “perpetually” in the West Bank. In warning that a violent Palestinian leadership might supplant Mahmoud Abbas if there was not sufficient progress at the peace table, he appeared to come perilously close to empathizing with potential Palestinian aggression against Israel.

The US, together with other Western countries, then embarked on a campaign to relax sanctions on Iran in exchange for Iran’s empty promises to freeze its nuclear program. As we’ve all heard by now, Israel is furious at the American-led capitulation, and Bibi launched a very undiplomatic tirade at Obama and Kerry.

All this has led to the US sending Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman to Israel to explain the American deal with Iran. Unfortunately for Sherman, she did not succeed in gaining Israel’s trust.

Which brings me to this picture.

sharks

My question is are these sharks “circling” the wagon to protect Israel, or are these American officials in disguise, searching for Israeli blood?

The words of this marine biologist are hardly comforting, bringing up vague parallels with Kerry et al:

Dr. Roi Holzman, a specialist in marine biology at Tel Aviv University, told Channel 2 that there was little to be afraid of as it’s a natural occurrence, and in general sharks aren’t interested in attacking people.

“Yes, it is a predator and aggressive, but [the shark] is not looking for people on the beaches. Moreover – as an animal accustomed to finding its livelihood in open water, it’s not looking for prey larger than it is,” he said.

Then again, maybe these really are Zionist sharks?

“In fact, it’s incorrect to think that entering the water with a bleeding wound will attract a shark. The shark may attack, but only if it feels threatened.”
