(h/t Daniel Mael who first broke the story and to Michael Behar for bringing our attention to the matter and for adding context.)

A nice young man is nicely laid out, ripe for the slaughter, on the sacrificial altar of American college campus Jihad. He is the unwitting cog in the wheel for the next stage of the Muslim holy war, in which just being a member of a group that sponsors student trips to Israel, is labeled a hate crime. The young man is Avinoam Baral and he is being targeted not just by his fellow students, but by CAIR, the Council on Islamic Relations with its regional offices all over the United States.

Not one major Jewish American organization has stepped up to the plate to help Avinoam, though in truth, this isn’t about Avinoam. It’s about something much bigger, so much bigger that if we say it aloud, they will jeer at us for saying so, but I will say it anyway: it’s about destroying Israel and the Jews worldwide once and for all and about building a Muslim caliphate.

Don’t believe me? Here’s proof:

Imagine the outcry were we to disqualify Muslim students from the student council because they were affiliated with organizations sponsoring trips to MECCA. Imagine if we tried to get them to sign “ethics” statements that prohibited them from such associations. Imagine if LARGE JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS backed the Jewish students against one single Muslim student for belonging to a group that sponsors trips to his holy site, calling it Jew-hatred.

This is the battle that Avinoam Baral faces now at this moment.

And the major Jewish American organizations are nowhere to be found.

Either they don’t get it, or they get it and they’re scared. Because it doesn’t make sense that they are leaving this young boy to twist in the wind. CAIR puts its full weight to bear on the issue and the Jewish orgs are silent and nowhere to be found.

It doesn’t make sense.

Avinoam is running for Student Council. That would be tomorrow, at 4 PM. The Muslims are trying to disqualify him, to bring his slate DOWN. They are insisting that Baral and those on his slate sign an “ethics” statement. All the other students running for student office—none of whom appear to be Jewish—signed the ethics statements. The statement prohibits the signatories from taking trips to Israel with organizations such as Hasbara Fellowships, AIPAC, and the ADL.

Because in this mad inversion of the truth, taking a trip to Israel, a country that is an American ally, is an evil, racist act: a manifestation of Islamophobia.

Here’s the thing, Avinoam Baral helped to defeat the Divestment Resolution at UCLA, so now they, the Muslims on campus, are going to PUNISH him.  Avinoam didn’t even want to get involved with that whole business. It was a long night. He was so tired. But he felt he had no choice. He had to speak up for Israel.

It was hard work getting that resolution defeated and now the sponsors of that resolution are PISSED. Behind closed doors, surely they growl to one another between gritted teeth, “That Zionist Jew Pig must pay for what he did.”

And the thing is that if this were just about one boy, it wouldn’t matter so much. Perhaps this one young man is dispensable.  But it’s not about him. It’s about the failure of the Jewish community to stand up for their own. It’s about the failure of the Jewish community to stand up for Israel in a way that really counts.

Here and NOW. This is what counts. Now is when you are needed.

But you are not here. None of you. Not one of your danged acronyms. Not the ADL, AJC, ZOA, or even the local JCC, who surely know about this boy and this fight (and what it is really about).

Because yes. Let’s admit it. They are Islamophobes. They ARE scared. They are scared witless of the Muslims. And so they won’t fight against CAIR. They won’t help Avinoam.

They will argue endlessly about who goes into the tent with them, this exclusive tent. Yes to J Street. No to J Street. But they won’t come out of the tent where J Street is or isn’t allowed, to do the job they were created to do because it’s not about that after all.

It’s about throwing money around. It’s about power and status and patting one’s self on the back and thinking you’ve helped your people and your country.

Well, you haven’t.

And Avinoam is the proof.

Dear Readers, if you know anyone who is ANYONE who can do anything to help Avinoam, now is the time. In fact it’s long past time and may already be too late.

But show us you are alive over there in America. Reach out to this young boy and his cause.

Make a rally, make a petition, call elected officials, and threaten to cancel donations. Speak to the media. Do whatever you can, even if it’s just to make a phone call.

Make a photo like this one and share and tweet it like crazy for the next 24 hours.

We Stand With Avinoam Baral

Make a statement that you stand with Avinoam Baral.

Because standing with Avinoam Baral is about standing with your people and your nation. It’s about staunching the flow of Islamic hatred being showered on our children at college campuses. It’s about standing up for justice and truth.

Please, please do something.

Please help.
