It is no secret the Israel-hating brigade resort to lies in order to demonize us. After all, when truth and justice is not on your side, you need to invent your own truth.
The current situation with our kidnapped boys is no exception. We are witness to some terrible lies, from the usual suspects.
Exhibit A: Max Blumenthal
17,000 Israelis like FB page demanding the hourly slaughter of Palestinians https://t.co/d4Y4ovKdpE http://t.co/Jk99b6EFcY #BringBackOurBoys
— Max Blumenthal (@MaxBlumenthal) June 16, 2014
He is referring to this Facebook page.
Anyone who knows Hebrew will see this page is not calling for “the hourly slaughter of Palestinians.” It is calling for the killing of one terrorist each hour the boys are not returned. Now we can debate whether or not this is a good or moral idea, but what is clear is Blumenthal is lying. Or at the very least does not understand Hebrew, which is troubling considering he wrote an entire book demonizing Israel, and which quotes statements made by Israelis.
Exhibit B: Ali “Abumination” Abunimah
Israeli politician demands public hangings of Palestinians until missing settlers are found http://t.co/ufVRJNWimw pic.twitter.com/tvXD41Ga6J — Ali Abunimah (@AliAbunimah) June 16, 2014
This is referring to this post of the aforementioned Facebook page.
Even Abumination’s own rag gets the translation more or less right: “Return to Jewish war ethics: kill or be killed. Kill a terrorist every hour.”
Again, it is not talking of palestinians but terrorists. And there is no mention of public hangings. Furthermore, the post does not show any Israeli politician demanding this. Sure, Moshe (Bogie) Ya’alon is mentioned, but he was clearly tagged in the post by the page administrator. Anyone with a basic understanding of how Facebook works (which we can assume includes Abumination) would know this.
Exhibit C: The palestinian Shehab News, who in their desire to show the kidnapped teens are in fact IDF soldiers, have posted photos of other people to make their point.
Here, they claim to be posting a photo of Eyal Yifrach (circled)
This is Eyal.
Not even close.
And here they even show a bit of good old fashioned racism, by posting the photo of another dark-skinned young man, also clearly not Eyal.
