WATCH: Dermer Is A Star On MSNBC

Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer gave a great interview this morning on MSNBC, explaining that Netanyahu did exactly what any Israeli Prime Minister should be doing in the aftermath of last week’s events in France.  Regarding Netanyahu’s invitation to French Jews, Dermer said, “In Israel the Jewish people do not ask others to defend them. In Israel, the Jewish people defend themselves.”

  1. I’m not sure why MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program would have the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. on to talk about French-Israeli relations. I thought Mark Regev was Prime Minister Netanyahu’s spokesman, not Ron Dermer. But I am glad to hear that the story of the French President Hollande not wanting Bibi to come to Paris was an invention of the Israeli press, including The Times of Israel. I do miss Michael Oren, though, a genuine diplomat who represented Israel very well here. Ron Dermer is unfortunately a right-wing political operative with ties to the Republican Party who had a diplomatic portfolio shoved under his armpit by Bibi and then sent off to Washington. Not really very diplomatic if you think about it at all.

    1. I found it suspicious that the story of Hollande not wanting Netanyahu to come to Paris was not in any French newspapers such as Le Monde or Le Figaro but only in Israeli ones. One would think that the French would leak it to a French paper.
