Just after Shabbat started in Israel on Friday the news of veteran CNN anchor Jim Clancy’s departure from CNN broke. You will remember that Israellycool was first to note the deletion (or perhaps suspension pending a re-activation) of his Twitter account. Algemeiner wrote:
CNN anchor Jim Clancy has left the network one week after a bizarre exchange with pro-Israel activists on Twitter about the terrorist outrages in Paris, in which he derided his opponents as the “hasbara team” and used a derogatory term for disabled people.
The news was broken by industry publication Adweek, which linked to The Algemeiner‘s extensive reporting of the scandal, noting that Clancy’s departure “comes just days after the veteran journalist had an extended debate via Twitter over the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.”
In addition to the tweeting, he then went on a furious blocking spree cutting himself off from anyone with the slightest pro-Israel sentiments.
Elder of Ziyon is, quite rightly, noting his part in this, it was a direct reply to Elder on a thread kicked off by Oren Kessler that seemed to be his undoing. Once again, just like with Tim Willcox of the BBC, there’s something very evil lurking in the minds of people like this.
And of course we’re all wondering where Jim will end up next, Al Jazeera, BBC and RT are all possibilities.
Also note we have a guest post by Fortune Magazine’s Richard Behar: he’s focusing on the absolute hammering the mainstream media have given terrorism expert Steve Emerson for one misstatement in an interview on Fox and their complete silence on this issue. Don’t miss that.
