Updated: Believe it or not, the campaign was apparently genuine.
While I am truly glad this was not a fraud, Sholom needs to realize there was cause to believe it to be so. The combination of the wording and – yes – Ahmed’s nationality (and not his nationality alone) did cause people to question it.
I am truly heartened Ahmed chose to raise money for Dafna’s family. A truly noble need.

As family and friends of Dafna Meir – not to mention practically the entire country – try to come turns with her brutal murder at the hands of a palestinian terrorist (made more difficult by yet another terror attack today, this time against a young pregnant woman), along comes someone to rub even more salt in to the wounds.
Someone by the name of Ahmed (I’m guessing not Jewish) opened a GoFundMe campaign (since removed) to raise money, supposedly to raise financial aid for her children and offset the funeral costs.

And he would have gotten away with it, had it not been for those meddling yids. Alas, his name and fact he could not bring himself to mention she was murdered clued people in to the likelihood this was a craven opportunist and not a good samaritan. Thankfully, some reported the fraud and GoFundMe cancelled the campaign.
I would be speechless but nothing surprises me anymore. There is much evil in the world, and unfortunately, we are bearing the brunt of it.
