Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu touched down in Australia last night Israel time.

(I wonder if the savvy Bibi was referencing this)

To smiles and warm welcomes (and a hell of a beautiful backdrop)

not just from the Australian Prime Minister either

(“G’day mates”? Looks like Bibi has mastered the Australian language!)
But it was not just smiles and a warm reception that greeted the Israeli Prime Minister. There was substantial security.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Australia to find snipers and a police helicopter monitoring his movements for his own safety.
Mr Netanyahu flew into Sydney from Singapore early today for a four-day visit, which is the first official trip to Australia by a sitting Israeli prime minister.
As he and his wife disembarked from the plane, their movements were monitored by a POLAIR chopper snipers were perched atop nearby buildings.
They were then escorted from the airport by dozens of police officers on motorbikes.

It is not clear whether the heavy police contingent is working to prevent a specific or general threat.
And some protests.
On Monday, about 50 people gathered outside the Israeli embassy in Canberra protest the visit, with similar rallies expected in Melbourne and Sydney later this week.
Bibi’s landing was followed by a ceremonial welcome

And some tough questions.

Bibi will be addressing an audience in Sydney later today, an address that will be broadcast live online. I will endeavor to post the link before it occurs.
