Waleed Aly, Australian writer, academic, lawyer and media presenter, has described the event that left him never “more angry or shaken.”
That’s right. Waleed claims the most harrowing experience he ever went through was being checked by Israeli airport security.

Yes, I am sure it was random. As opposed to the fact his coreligionists are the ones who have made strict airport security a must (yes, I fully support racial profiling when it comes to security checks)
“and it just went for hours basically.”
I sincerely doubt that. Had it gone for hours as he claims, he would have missed his flight – and he’d be whining about that. Basically.
“I did have to undo my jeans and all sorts of stuff.”
The horror! And how unnecessary – I mean who ever hid anything in their pants before?
“You don’t know where it’s going to end.”
One of two ways, Waleed. Either they find out your’e a terrorist planning on perpetrating a terror attack and you are arrested – or you are released. Either way, the airlines are safer because of it.
“You’re in this situation, you don’t know why.”
Fathom a guess, Waleed. It is not for the fun of the airport security, or to needlessly harass people.
(Waleed has been described before as perhaps “the smartest man on television.” I guess this is a poor reflection on the intelligence of television personalities).
“We don’t need more of that.”
Oh yes we do. What we don’t need more of are terror attacks. Or your whining.
I should remind you that Waleed is the same guy who suggested love will conquer terrorism. He’s also the same guy who couldn’t bring himself to condemn Hamas terrorism.
So, yeah. The world needs strict airport security like Israel implements, and having terror apologists like Waleed Aly whining about it is a very small price to pay.
