Earlier this week, many people noticed that the translate tweet feature for Hebrew was no longer working, meaning non-Hebrew speakers could not conveniently translate tweets from the likes of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and other high profile Israelis.
The problem has since been rectified.

מסכם ביקור חשוב ומוצלח מאוד לישראל בברזיל. הבאנו את היחסים בינינו לשיא של כל הזמנים! תודה לברזילאים על קבלת הפנים החמה שהביאה הרבה כבוד למדינת ישראל pic.twitter.com/epgbBLImV2

But why did the feature stop working? A number of pro-Israel people cried foul, but Twitter have claimed it was a bug.
Thx for reporting. This is a bug that was introduced when we switched translation providers in mid December. Impacts some tweets in Hebrew and some other languages (such as Chinese) only on iOS. Working on a fix that will hit App Store when it opens post-holidays

I am no conspiracy theorist but why do these things always happen to us? You may recall a similar story recently with Spotify , as well as the 2007 Eurovision broadcast.
I guess we are just really unlucky.
