The people of the town of Prochnik, in southern Poland, have been filmed beating and burning an effigy of a religious Jew, supposedly to represent Judas ahead of Easter.
This occurs on the backdrop of Poland passing the Holocaust law last year, which originally established fines or a maximum three-year jail term for anyone who refers to Nazi German death camps as Polish or accuses Poland of complicity in the Third Reich’s crimes.
Because clearly, antisemitism is not an issue in Poland.
Israeli’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yisrael Katz, recently said that “the Poles suckle antisemitism from their mother’s breasts.” These images will do nothing to dispel that idea.
