Israel hater Linda Sarsour has weighed in on the rocket fire from Gaza into Israel with this Facebook post:
The lies are thick and fast like the rockets we have been subjected to. I have discussed the fallacy before of palestinians living under a “brutal occupation”, especially in Gaza, from which we withdrew in 2005. Any restrictions there are the result of the terrorism we have faced since then. Likewise the notion of Gaza as “an open air prison.”
But Sarsour’s lies go beyond these oft-repeated ones.
But did you do the same for the four Palestinians murdered on Friday?..Chronology matters. Friday, Israel gunned down 4 Palestinians peacefully protesting. No condemnations.
This is as blatant a lie as they come. This is what happened, and who was killed, on Friday:
The latest round of violence began on Friday when a Palestinian Islamic Jihad sniper fired at Israeli troops, wounding two soldiers, according to the Israeli military.
Israel retaliated with an air strike that killed two militants from the armed Islamist group Hamas, which controls Gaza. Two other Palestinians protesting near the frontier were killed by Israeli forces on the same day, Palestinian officials said.
In other words, these were not 4 palestinian civlians murdered in cold blood as Sarsour is suggesting. They were two known Hamas terrorists killed after terrorists fired at IDF troops, and two rioters engaged in violent protests that even involved gunfire from the palestinian side.
But Sarsour knows her followers will not think critically. They will assume she has done all the critical thinking on their behalf and take her words as the gospel. Yet a few simple Google searches will reveal what I just posted above.
Her followers will also accept her contention that
Palestinians love their children and families as much as Israelis love their children and families, except there is a STARK difference in the conditions in which Israeli children and Palestinian children are growing up – it’s unequal and unjust.
This is also not true. Palestinians, as a society, do not love their children and families as much as Israelis. If they did, they would not send their children on suicide bombing missions, and allow them to go to violent demonstrations and imperil their lives. They would also insist that Hamas spends foreign aid on infrastructure instead of terror tunnels and rocket production.
Linda Sarsour is a liar, plain and simple. And I heavily suspect she knows she is lying – because it serves her agenda and she seems to be getting away with it.
