Fake Anti-Israel Meme of the Day: The Anthony Hopkins Quote

Yesterday’s post on the anti-Israel (f)artwork in Santa Fe drew to my attention (pun intended) the group Santa Feans for Justice in Palestine. A perusal of their Facebook page led me to a post of theirs with this meme.

It is known Hopkins avoids talking politics. In fact, this is what he said in an interview with Brad Pitt just a few weeks ago.

“I don’t have any opinions,” he said. “Actors are pretty stupid. My opinion is not worth anything. There’s no controversy for me, so don’t engage me in it, because I’m not going to participate.”

But it is even worse than that. You see, it is highly unlikely he is even privately anti-Israel.

On a balmy evening in early March 2014, a handpicked crowd of sixty of Hollywood’s richest and most powerful VIPs gathered at the at the art-filled Malibu mansion of Arnon Milchan for an intimate evening with Benjamin Netanyahu. Milchan, billionaire businessman and Oscar-winning producer pulled out all the stops for his old friend. The evening’s guest list included everyone from Clint Eastwood, Barbra Streisand, Anthony Hopkins, and Leonardo Di Caprio to Avatar director James Cameron, and Rush Hour producer Brett Ratner. The crowd listened raptly for an hour as the Prime Minister delivered his spiel.

Of course, none of this matters to the Israel haters and antisemites. They will continue to fabricate quotes because it serves their agenda.
