Some good news from Canada, with Annamie Paul being elected leader of the federal Green Party.
Why do I care who was elected leader of the Greens, I hear you ask.
Well, she defeated a rather nasty guy called Dimitri Lascaris.
Lasaris is a BDS-hole and, naturally, an antisemite. Don’t believe me? Ask Canadian PM Justin Trudeau.

As I said, good news. especially if it is something to drive Roger Waters to drink (more).
Here’s what makes it even better: the person who defeated him is Annamie Paul, who is Black and Jewish. Not only does she seem serious about her Judaism but she does not seem to be an Israel-hater.
Annamie was clear to me that the Green Party in no way is a supporter of the BDS movement. Where the Green Party stands with respect to the settlements is uncertain, but clearly Paul is cognizant of the issues involved. What Paul is not afraid to do is to be a critic even of her own party if she thinks it has strayed off its platform.
