Mairav Zonszein is an anti-Israel Israeli-American freelance journalist, otherwise known as the person who tweeted out a message Seth Rogen had sent to her privately.
She also opposed the Abraham Accords.
In other words, she is a real piece of work and not someone you could trust to report objectively.
In her latest report for the Washington Post – entitled Netanyahu is crushing dissent among Israeli Jews now, too – Zonszein claims that “no other country in the world has implemented a ban on protests amid the pandemic.”
This is simply wrong. Israel has not banned protests, only restricted them. And other countries in the world like Sweden have done the same thing.
When Israellycool reader Michal pointed this out to Zonszein, the journalist was quick to thank her and immediately correct the report.
Just kidding. She laughed it off and did nothing (the report remains with the false assertion 17 hours after Michal pointed out the error).
What kind of journalist would respond to being pointed out an error in their piece with “Lol oh ya you got me”, while leaving the piece unchanged?
Not the kind the Washington Post should be persevering with.
Update: Finally.
